Kermie on the front porch

Kermie on the front porch

If you follow my blog, you may have read about the 2:00am serenade from a green house-guest back in April (?). Since it is spring, the tree frogs are now in full force out here in my neighborhood. I will miss them if I ever move back into town. They are one of the pleasures of living outside of the city, is the chorus of tree frogs in the evenings, and I just love finding them clinging to my windows at night, waiting for their “uniramian”-dinner. They are awfully cute little frogs. I have to say I’m not quite sure what species they are… I tried to take a decent pic of this guy on my front porch last night, but I just don’t have night-shooting down, let alone holding myself still enough in the absence of a tripod.

    Looks like a friendly sort.

The frogs we have around here like to jump in any shoes left outside and hangout. Fortunately, I have a habit of tapping my shoes on the ground to remove any spiders before wearing my stinky lawn mowing footwear. I was a bit shocked the first time our Kermit friend plopped on the ground.
