Chasing the Sun
At approximately 8:15pm, as my parents were leaving with Jackson to spend the night, I stepped out onto my front porch and heard Jackson shriek, “Grandma! Look at the sunset!” It was one of those sunsets. I ran inside the house, thinking to myself “oh boy, if John were here he’d be chasing this one”. So, I quickly grabbed the girls, changed a dirty diaper lickety-split, tossed the offspring into the car, and away we went to chase the sunset. Since, I didn’t have any advanced warning, I chose to drive over to the old farm buildings that John and I previously photographed. This time, however, the sunset was much more intense and I also was equipped with the ever so crucial tripod. I didn’t have much time left, as the sunset inevitably morphed during the 15 minutes that it took me to reach the spot. Never the less, I think they turned out pretty cool. The third one below reminds me of the sunsets in the deserts out west.
The bonus to all of this was that the girls passed out in the car, hence upon returning home all I needed to do was carry them inside and directly to bed.
