Start Now, not Later
Many a fellow pre-med student can be seen toting around their fat copy of the MCAT study guide, or passing “someone’s borrowed” copy between the rows of the lecture hall.
Obtain a MCAT study guide. It is now on the top of my study priority list. I feel as I am inching away from my year of general chemistry and facing the year ahead in organics, that I ought to nail down those “old” topics before they become a foggy history.
Yawn… I am eager for the fall to begin, yet a little weary too. Jackson is enrolled in more swimming lessons, and I plan to get both he and his little sister enrolled in soccer, which will begin in September. I know we will be fine. We will! We are a strong family, and when I keep a good steady routine, the kids follow along splendidly.
What is on my plate for the fall? Organic chemistry I, microbiology, cell biology, and mammalian physiology. (I am 90% certain I will drop the mammalian physiology before the semester starts. I think that the other three classes are ENOUGH, and I’d rather take 3 classes and do well, than take 4 classes with mediocre performances.)
Organic was the death of many well intentioned chemistry majors at my undergrad (I was to dumb to make it that far and switched to liberal arts from a real major after quant).
I am sure you will excel–sounds like lots of fun in a few weeks…
I can check with my sister to see if she still has her old MCAT study guides, it’ll be a few weeks until she gets back from Africa, but I’ll ask her then.
ohhh, that’s okay Matthew, they’re not THAT expensive, and also I’m sure they change/update the exam… kinda like the ACS exams I had to take last year, and will again this year… the ACS publishes study guides to accompany updates to the exams.
Congratulations on completing the BAR!
