son of a beetch (photo from www.bugguide.net)

When I woke up on Sunday morning, I discovered my legs were polka-dotted. Freakishly-diseased-looking bites all over my legs. What the heck? I remember getting bitten on Saturday evening while John and I were down at that creek taking photos. And I had climbed up the rocky embankment of the bridge to snap photos, and was sitting in and on the rocks.

I showed my diseased legs to my dad, this morning, and with a little humming and hawing over it, we decided that they must have been sand fleas. Sand fleas!?! The polka-dots were not bothersome yesterday, however today they are beginning to itch. a little more… a little more….
