I could’ve fallen asleep at our quiet little spot along the lagoon

Yes, another outing for Faye and her little bears. This time, we went to Hunting Island, SC. My plan was just to go to Pinckney Island, but I missed the exit for Hilton Head, and so I just decided to go on to Beaufort and do Hunting Island. Ahhh, every time I drive through Beaufort remember again just how lovely it is. There an undisturbed quaintness about Beaufort that has gotten lost, I think, in Charleston and Savannah. I suppose it is simply that Beaufort is smaller, set further away from main traffic and thoroughfare, and thus it’s quiet low-country character has remained.
Jackson was excited about the lighthouse, but our shortest of shorties didn’t meet the height requirement for going in and climbing up so we had to settle for walking around the outside of the lighthouse. I told him that someday while Josephine is at school, I’ll take him to the Tybee Lighthouse and we can climb its stairs.
I have posted a massive number of photos. aye. I have finally placed a darned uv filter on my camera and have also been shooting in full manual mode, (which is a good and bad thing).
Have a happy Monday!
- just playing around, i really liked that scrubby palm.
- serious business of digging in sand
- wow three at one time!
- miss olivia
- beautiful
- barnacles
- through the grass
- Hansel and Grettel
- i don’t know what the deal was with the palmettos, but she dragged these along the trail for quite a while.
- hard at work with that plastic lid she found… gee the best toys really ARE free.
- one more try
- fiddler crabs
- Jackson was quite interested in the lighthouse.
- beware
- attempt at an olivia shot
- “but mama, I don’t see the light.”
- obligatory palmetto pic… yeah, i dunno
- sweeping the forest floor
- dead palm tree, sand is courtesy of my children
- they’re so cute.
- again, i thought the pattern of the surface of this dead palm tree was pretty cool… i thought it might make a good photograph
- ehh, Faye trying to be creative with a blade of grass

It looks like a wonderful place to visit. You get the best pictures while still keeping all the little ones together–impressive. I have not figured out the camera thing considering I need my hands for a cattle prod, stun gun, and lasso to keep everyone under control.
Good stuff.
That’s not Hansel and Gretel.
That’s Bonnie and Clyde!!
You take some really nice photo’s!
