Call me Bug-Girl
Yes, I have been on a blog hiatus. Why? typical reasons. oh wait, you do remember that I have three children, don’t you? I’ve just been busy, also spent a long weekend out-of-town, Jackson has been back in swimming lessons this week, and to tell you the truth, I just didn’t feel like posting.
However, I am back! Look at my insect collection. In just two weeks I went from never touching bugs, to 4 specimen in my new collection. The dragon fly is from Harris Neck, the big black and yellow Eastern Lubber grasshopper is from Columbus, and the butterfly I found stunned lying upside down against a parked motorcycle in Lumpkin, GA.
I tried to gross out the ex last Sunday when he showed up to drop off the kids. As the children were walking up the front stoop I announced to Jackson, “Hey! I have some new bugs!” and his face lit up, “really! oh wow, what are they?”, the ex stood there with a perplexed look on his face… Josephine waddled past my legs and shrieked, “bugs!”

I obviously outgrew the cigar box, I found this wooden box with a glass top for $9 at Michael's... nice.
Cool collection! Another reason why I miss the South–big bugs (preferably outside of course).
Last year the 8 year old ordered praying mantis eggs and let them hatch for the backyard. We had a whole crew of those giant monsters in the plants and on the house. It was quite a sight.
Ohhh, I’ll have to look into that!
