Bugbots and Cupcakes

My baby girl

Birthday! My baby is now two! wah-wah, says Mommy. They aren’t supposed to grow. Ah, alright, well it is fun to watch their personalities grow, but it’s so hard to believe that just over a year ago she was still a little squirmy infant attached to the breast.

I found the Bugbots at ToysRUs and instantly knew that they would be a hit. She loves bugs. When she sees bugs she points at them and in toddler-english says, “mama! Buzzz buzzz.” I also bought her a set of Duplo blocks that has a door-piece. She had the standard basic set of Duplo blocks, but it didn’t have any “fun” pieces.

PINK! GLITTERY! JOSEPHINE!

And last, a pair of pink glittery Converse shoes that I’ve been eyeing at Target for about six months. She loves pink sparkly things, and gosh darn it, the smallest size available was an 8, and she’s currently wearing Stride-Rite 7. The pink shoes are way too big for her, but naturally she’ll grow so I’m not going to worry about it.

"buzz-buzz"

"buzz-buzz"

"yay! buzz-buzz!!!"

"yay! buzz-buzz!!!"

The Bugbots were a HIT. All three kids were occupied for 45 minutes straight! Swear to god! I finally had to interrupt and ask “where will the bugs go night-night?” Well, wouldn’t you know they ended up in the cradle next to the baby. LOL

"night-night, bugs"

Oh! I almost forgot to include a photo of Josephine’s cupcakes. Uhhh, yeah I gave her a choice between boats and the frogs and she wanted the frogs. Yes yes yes, I know those are not silly princess girly choices, but she really liked boating last weekend and I knew she’d like the frogs…. I think they looked pretty cool!

The bugbots are a great idea–they would be a hit here as well.

We went with the backyard Extreme Roller Coaster by Step 2 for the twins’ birthday last week.

The coaster link shows a kid using it with a helmet which made me laugh. Our danger-prone little ones have already figured out to jump into a kid’s water pool from on top of the coaster platform. No telling what extreme activity will be next. Darn thrill seekers…

haha. I love the shoes. I remember that little girl getting very upset with me when she wanted to wear pink socks and I, being a mean Aunt Claire, insisted she wear the white frilly ones that matched her dress.
