Ten Years In this City and I’ve Never

June 4, 2009

I have been living in this city for over ten years now, and have never gone to see the Tibetan Monks who visit every couple of years. They take up residency for a week and create an intricate sand mandala. I’ve heard that at the end of the week, it gets blown into the wind… though, I heard on the local news that they will be taking it down to the Savannah River and “casting” it into the river. Did they check with the EPA first? Before dumping dyed sand into the river? LOL

Dad harked in the background, while I was talking to my mother on the phone, asking if I were planning to go see it today. Now after checking out the website, I see that the mandala depicts a female Buddha, Sita Tara, which represents health and longevity. Perhaps it would be in my best karmic interest to go see it. I could use all the female Buddha power that’s available. Selfish, I know.
