Autism Resources
May 28, 2009
Someone googled “autism resources in columbus, Georgia” and landed on my blog. They would have figured out at some point that I don’t live in Columbus, GA, but that’s beside the point. I am thinking I should create a page on here with a list of resources I HAVE used throughout the state. For anyone googling. you know? All it takes is one google, a list of previously used resources by another autism mom to possibly help someone else out there…..

Hey there – we’ve started an online community for special needs caregivers. We have a child with autism, ourselves. It’s anonymous, so venting can’t get you in trouble unless you give too much away. Hope it helps –

Hi! Thanks for the note! It’s ironic that no one hands you a roadmap when you have a special needs child…. you must discover a lot on your own. My mother’s friend who has a down syndrome child told my mother once, “it’s as if you planned a vacation to Germany, but landed in Russia”, meaning you can’t predict where you’ll end up, but you can still enjoy the trip.
I will definitely check out your site….
Thanks! Yes, I’ve heard that saying a lot too.
And I agree with not having a good, solid list of resources, but a lot of that has to do with differing opinions. It’s a shame, too, because many ppl could help each other in many ways, even if they differ in one area.
That’s why jonsroom is anonymous, so ppl don’t approach each others’ questions with prejudice. Good work with the blog question!
