The Original Networking Site
Speaking of social networking, I just saw this Coleman advertisement on television. It’s great! I love it! I can’t find it in an embeddable format anywhere, so watch it at Coleman’s site. What a successful and catchy ad campaign!
I don’t know that I’ll be rushing down to Wal-mart for Coleman products, but it certainly has me craving the smell of a campfire, the morning dew settling on the tent, and bathing in mountain streams…. although, I do need a thermos, (is thermos a trade-name or is it a general term for a thermos? Analogous to Kleenex?)hmmm… anyway, here’s to enjoying life, the woods, and OFF!

Deep Woods OFF, the old reliable... smelly, slimy... no wonder bugs don't like it! Works for me.
Actually there are COUNTLESS photo albums with yellowing photographs from the 70′s and early 80′s when we used to go camping in Michigan… the campsites looked just like the ones in the Coleman advertisement. We even had a station wagon, complete with wood paneling. Ooooh, now I’m going to have to go on a photo raid at Mom’s house and post some classic family in the woods photos… ha ha there’s even a pic of me as a toddler sitting on a potty training chair at the campsite. awesome. No wonder I like biology so much, my parents pretty much raised me in the woods.

Faye,
I designed the Coleman campaign you wrote about. The ad agency used found photos from people who sent in their family photos. You should collect your shots. Maybe they will end up in an ad or on TV. If you are interested let me know. I’ll give you the name of the person to contact. We paid about $1000 for each shot. Some people chose to get camping gear instead.
I’m glad you liked my campaign. Check out more of my work at darrellcredeur.com
Cheers.
