Kite flying with Grandpa and a “Pirate Ship”
Jackson has owned this kite for almost a year now, and has been begging for nearly the entire 12 months for SOMEONE!!! to go fly the kite. The poor sweet child has had to listen to “not today” or “we need another adult”, or “not enough wind”… So, finally we had a Saturday with sisters absent, so I enlisted Grandpa to go out with us and attempt to fly the kite. It took more time to assemble the darn thing than it did for us to figure out that there was not enough wind and also that we really don’t know what we’re doing. Still, it was a gorgeous day…. January! look at that sun. We then went down to river street to tour a schooner-like ship that was built as a private vessel in the 80′s… now it’s owned by an organization and is open for free tours…. the appeal for us, of course, was that it looks like a pirate ship… and Jackson asked me several times, “where are the canonballs, mama?”
