The weather was gorgeous today! Absolutely perfect Savannah day. I had just the girls, and both they and I were getting antsy so we headed downtown.
First we stopped by to harass Bartley into going to the park with us, but he was running short on time. Baxter, the dog, is a Leonberger that Bartley adopted a few years ago from a Leonberger Rescue group. He is an angel in the form of a teddy bear. Such a beautiful animal. The pics don’t even do him justice, and his hair is silky. Oooh, I just want to snuggle up with him.
If I didn’t have any morals I would dog-nap Baxter. Alas, I suppose I need to lead a straight life in which case, Baxter will have to remain with his rightful owner.
So, we headed over to the playground at Forsythe. Olivia played on the equipment for a little while, with encouragement.
However, she soon grew tired of that and went back to her usual playground routine which is to examine the wood chips. Yes, that’s right.
I frequently wonder when I’m at the park with Olivia if other parents are wondering just what in the heck my daughter is doing. For so long I have tried to get her to play on the equipment and at “look” like a normal child, but I suppose if wood chips are what makes her happy then so be it, huh? So from now on, I will stop trying to snap “normal” fun photos of Olivia, and just take pics of the way she really is.
Josephine LOVES the park. She likes watching the other children climbing and running around. I just put her in the swing for the first time a few days ago… oh, boy oh, boy… so much fun. She giggles with so much delight.
And of course, a little tongue action.
Baby and fountain.
Olivia in front of the Smelling Garden. (sometimes it’s open, today it was closed. I was disappointed that we couldn’t get in. Oh, well). In this photo Olivia is holding an acorn top. I was using it to get her attention so that she’d look in the direction of the camera, but instead she grabbed it.
Then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa’s. Grandma was baking? huh? She never baked for us when we were children. I don’t know what’s changed about her. Oh, and she wasn’t even baking cookies for me or the children. The cookies are for a Super Bowl party. Whoa, are we low on her list or what?
More Bonnie.
She just has to give me a smirk. Hmmm, wonder where I get it?
I love this next photo of my Dad. He is never seen without a book. Here he is doing what he does best. My siblings will appreciate these two photos.
Would you believe that’s only a fraction of the total number of books he owns? a MERE fraction. Itty bitty fraction. He’s having to downsize his collection, too, since they’ve moved into their new villa.
My Dad had this box of shells sitting in the library today. It is one of my Grandmother Montgomery’s numerous “treasures”. She always had little boxes of things, and everything was always labeled in the felt tip markers and pens. She used to write all over the books she read. And it was always with a blue felt tip pen. Scribbles all over the margins. I really get a kick out of flipping through her old things and seeing what she scribbled.
I believe these are from her Florida days.
She spent a brief period of time living in one of those classic Florida mobil home parks outside of Tampa near Bradenton Beach.

Hello…
I have a leonberger…male. His name is Sage. Are you interested in breeding your female? Where are you located?
Just thought I’d ask.
