Ode to Bartley
These are pics from a dinner party, at his friend’s geeeORgeous loft, in honor of Bartley. My dear friend Bartley. He’s pretty sassy too, you can tell by the devilish look in his eye.
Let’s see, I have known Bartley for 9 years. Whoa! 9 years Bartley… can you believe it? We had a class together my first semester at SCAD, it was his first semester too. Color Theory with Steve Knudsen. He was a little quirky. Well, what do expect for a Color Theory professor, right? Oh yeah, he was primarily a painting professor, but also taught foundations classes, (which is what color theory is). Anyway, he would share slides of his work in class, and they frequently followed a theme about his mother. AND and and, he painted dead animals. yeah, dead. roadkill. I remember one was of a dead deer! Now I am all for reading into a painting and trying to interpret a message, but dead animals? Yawn.
It’s been quite a while since the party, I still owe Bartley an email attachment with these photos. I promise I’ll send them to you.
Gosh, we should be a couple.
